Surgery

Our surgical suite is designed with the utmost safety of your pet in mind.

All pets undergoing surgery are required to have an exam and blood work prior to the procedure.  Once they are under anesthesia they are connected to a monitor identical to ones you have seen in a human hospital.  All our patients are monitored by a certified technician whose only job is to monitor your pet.

All patients receive intravenous (IV) fluids throughout the procedure to make sure they have good blood flow through their bodies.  Since it is designed to be cold in surgery to decrease contamination your pet is kept warm with a specially designed heating system called a Hot Dog.

We use a human-grade anesthesia gas called sevoflurane.  It goes into the body quickly, and leaves it quickly, so your pet will be more awake when she leaves that night.

Our procedures are performed under sterile conditions similar to human ORs, with full mask, cap, gown, gloves, and drapes.
